What do we do?


Flying


We go flying regularly at 7AEF (RAF Cranwell) in the Grob Tutor. Take control of the aircraft and learn things from basic flying to aerobatics with trained RAF pilots. If you fancy a try and at becoming a qualified pilot, apply for a flying scholarship to improve your flying skills

Gliding


We have regular opportunities for gliding at 643VGS (RAF Syerston), Complete all the levels of the Gliding Induction Certificate and maybe try out a Gliding Scholarship

Camps


Take part in camps ranging from week long camps on RAF bases around the country with other cadet squadrons to weekend squadron adventure training camps

Sports


Help to keep fit by taking part in squadron sport nights, or compete against other cadets at wing, regional or corps level

Adventure Training


Recieve training in basic adventure skills from building shelters and cooking ration packs to camouflage and concealment and first aid

Duke of Edinburgh


Take part in the widely recognised national scheme called the Duke of Edinburgh award. An outward bound activity that aims to get young people out and about the countryside

Shooting


We shoot the .22 rifle on our local range and the L98 on RAF bases during wing camps.

Drill


Partake in drill and ceremonial duties such as our local Rememberance Sunday parade or Battle of Britain parade right through to marching on our annual ATC Sunday parade in other local towns with local squadrons

First Aid


We have the chance to gain 1st aid qualifications through St Johns Ambulance (No Cadets were harmed in the making of this website!)

Radios


Gain yourself a provisional or full radio VHF, HF or UHF licence on military networks. If you enjoy it, try your hand at the Royal Signals course

Modelling


Design, create and compete with your models at wing, regional and corps level

Leadership


Use your skills at leadership and problem solving to complete simple and complex tasks on a squadron level right through to corps level
